In Korean-published Spanish textbooks, only the norms of Spain are presented as standard Spanish. For instance, second-person pronouns are described as "tú, usted, vosotros, ustedes", which strictly adhere to Spanish norms. However, across Latin America, ustedes is used instead of vosotros for the second-person plural, and in two-thirds of Latin American countries, vos is used instead of tú for the second-person singular. Corresponding verb forms for these pronouns also exhibit specific variations. This variation in second-person address systems in Latin America is known as the VOSEO phenomenon.

In essence, the VOSEO phenomenon involves the use of the second-person pronoun "vos" and its corresponding verb forms to address individuals in the singular in certain Latin American countries. This phenomenon varies by country and region within Latin America. Despite this, Korean Spanish textbooks do not account for these regional variations. This study aims to analyze verb forms based on the VOSEO phenomenon, not covered in Korean textbooks, and to highlight differences among countries.
